Trying to see if the added expense upfront of buying on the outskirts of the city would be worth the trade offs. Ideas Guys?
How close are you to retirement? Will you want to live on the outskirts of the city when retired or move again?
I live 11 miles from downtown and dislike the 25 minute commute. I would love to live 50 miles out, away from traffic and sirens, where I could see the stars at night....but there is no way I could do that drive every day! I will not consider the idea of moving out of the city until I am getting close to retirement, but once I am retired...I am so outta here! If I was close to retirement I sure would not be considering moving closer to the city unless it was necessary for medical reasons or something.
