Rug since you're using an Encore s s it doesn't have the receiver which gives room for the bolt to move backwards & forward, I'd say that's at least 4-5" shorter/closer to your head.
? Maybe ? you know someone who'd help you shoot your or their gun and let you stand a few inches forward. It might give you an idea of what you want to do IF anything.
This is just off the cuff thinking w/o cutting your bll. As you said, you can't glue it back on !!
