I built one a few years back. Remington 700 la .473 bolt face. I used a 26 inch shilen barrel 1-9 twist ( if I did it again I would go 1-8) I set it up to shoot 120-130 grain bullets. I think 1-8 would be better for 140 grain bullets. I ran 120 grain nosler ballistic tips at 3150-3200 fps. I used a timney trigger and a B & C stock. Rifle was about 8 lbs w/o a scope. I enjoyed the rifle, it shot great but ended up selling it. I now have a 6.5 creedmoor and a .264 win mag to satisfy my 6.5 craving. The 6.5 - 06 ai is a nice round......I made brass for it buy opening up 25-06 brass. RL 22 was the powder that seemed to work the best. It's easier for me to run the 264 win mag. I bought a model 70 extreme weather. No flies on the 6.5-06 ai. Good luck on your build.
