There is no law that makes it illegal for the US to take out terrorist targets known to be hiding amongst family members.
That's not quite what's being discussed. What's being discussed is the Israeli practice of punitive actions against the families of terrorists, i.e., we're talking about the US adopting it. That's what Trump said he'd do, and I strongly oppose this practice. I still support Trump, because that's how important it is that power be taken from the ruling oligarchy (the members of whom, in reality, are no more concerned about the rule of law than is, apparently, Trump), but let's be clear about what Trump is referring to.
PS Ultimately, Trump is less likely, IMO, to involve us in wars than are the establishment ruled Democrats or Republicans.
