Ive had all three rifles. I never could get myself to really like the A7. The magazine situation wasnt something I could warm up to. I also prefer a more open grip on a stock.

I like my 70 EW in 308 quite a bit. The factory stock on the short actions seems to be better proportioned than the long action EWs. If I were going long action, Id stick to the featherweight or be prepared to restock an EW.

I picked up an M700 Mountain SS and once again I didn't care for the stock (maybe I just dont care for B&C stocks). Its a 280 that I slipped into a McMillan KS stock and I think its about perfect for a deer rifle. I never shoot much past 300 yards but the rifle is more than capable. If forced to get rid of all but one, it would be my keeper.
