I owned a few 1200s. The last was a 270 Win. I never liked the look of the spacers or the gloss. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but all my rifles are either matte wood or polymer dull finish.

The 1200 series, and there were a number of them including the Super, Super Magnum, Varmint and Super Clips were created with the US market in mind.

In Canada, we used to get Sakos, PH, Voere, Midlands and a number of other Euro rifles much cheaper than what you guys in the States were paying for them. In some cases, the US has import duties or taxes or something tacked onto the cost.

When the US and CDN dollars were about par, we were paying 20 to 30 percent less retail, for European rifles and accessories. Primarily, because of no tariffs.
