I was at our local Cabelas tonight and perused the clearance rod bin as per usual. I found a pair of St Croix Mojo bass rods, both 7' one marked spinnerbait and a heavy/fast, the other marked plastics and a med/heavy fast. I couldn't find a defect on either and the tags claimed they were one of a kind for that store as the reason for liquidation. Imagine that, bass rods not being a fast seller in Alaska.
Anyway, I'm going back to bigmouth bass country soon and enjoy using a bass rod when fishing for rockfish and lings in the saltwater so will use them for that so I bought both of them. I knew Croix were usually thought of as pretty decent gear but honestly didn't know what they cost, got home and googled them up to find the going rate to be $175 or so. I guess I probably did Okay at $20 each.
