The Mihec bullet takes a little more speed to open up, but has a narrower velocity window that it works in, if you cast with wheelweight alloy anyway.

I think I've posted it before - my cast bullet equivalent of the flying ashtray. It still opens to some degree all the way down to 600-650 fps:

Using that flying ashtray in my 45 Colt and real soft lead it opens up like your 900 fps picture and has great retention loosing less than five gr out of 280 gr.
