As a sufferer of the "shakes" at 10x, this bino provided me with a very solid option. I could use the 8x for terrific general use and then switch them to 12x for looking at the details. I used my trekking pole regularly to help in that regard. That said, I didn't have the Bog Pod bino hand at the time. After receiving that at Christmas, I was shocked to see how amazing 12x binos are when utilizing a good tripod.
