The Breitbart article is factually correct, but seems that Breitbart felt compelled to ad opinion because Obummer didn't come right out and blame Japan for causing the war, and the necessity to use the BOMB.

He didn't try to blame the U.S. either, but his commentary was that war and conflict is wrong, and we need to find ways to avoid it.

If you read both articles it is apparent that Brreitbart tried to imply that Obummer was trying to blame the U.S. in some way.

They did not actually misquote him, It was all implied by the writer.
