I have had and still have several CLRs. The very best 264 Win mag I have owned was made from a 7mag CLR. I used a #2 contour Lilja barrel cut at 26". It was delight to carry and one of the best rifles for hunting out west I have ever had. The recoil was far less than I anticipated and the accuracy was outstanding. I also use the 308 extensively, both are excellent choices if you shoot them enough to know them.
