The comparison is apples to oranges. A typical 1911 45acp pistol spring is 16 pounds, although you can get optional springs from 8-30 pounds. The 1911 pulls straight back, and the P1 and P3 both break like an OU shotgun.

The 1911 45ACP is much easier to manipulate. But again, the straight pull 1911 verses the compression of the P1/P3 is very different.

The P1 actually has two cocking levels, a slower half cock, and the full cock for greater speed. The P3 only has one cocking level. Most guys consider the P1 difficult to shoot because of the spring recoil. This recoil is not offensive, but leads to mechanically larger groups. P3 does not have a spring, so no recoil harmonics, and much easier to group.
