The function of the box magazine is convenient for hunting farm country, drop the clip, open the lever, walk down the road. Unloading at the end of the day and stashing the full box magazine for the next morning is also convenient. My 99 traditional-self is all about the functional beauty of the rotary magazine, so I'd like to get a 284F someday. Ultimately my attraction to the 284win has turned to bolt guns with a 3-1/8" magazine capacity. I get to use the full potential of the caliber at the longer overall length. My 99 in 284 might as well be a 7mm-08, they perform the same for me. What I REALLY want is 7mm-08 EG. "...One Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for All" JeffG
