What scopes are dieing on you? Carbine length gas is harder on the rifle so, it stands to reason it beats the scopes harder too.

Trijicons hold up in the Deserts with soldiers but, they are heavy and expensive.

I use mid-length gas on 14.5 and 16.0 inch AR platforms if at all possible or, go with a piston option.
