Years ago I had this problem with a 700. Gunsmith shortened ejector spring and corrected the problem. I remember I helped with disassemble of bolt by holding something. Maybe 20 years ago. Now, I am having the same problem with a 788 (223). When the fired case leaves the action it drags on the front, top of the ejection port and dents the case. I have the firing pin removed from the bolt. I had to put a little reward pressure on the firing pin head to clear the bolt body but it came out OK. I wonder if this is the same problem as the 700. I see 2 small holes on the end of the bolt body. If I try to knock this out to get at the ejector spring, how much trouble am I getting into? Thanks, Jerry in SD
