My 1899 has four work orders, as follows:

7903 10/16/24
3411 10/13/33
3411 10/12/34
4604 10/24/36

The duplication of 3411, a year apart, seems strange. 7903 was for new sights fitted, and one of the others was apparently for barrel replacement, as the barrel on it is later than the serial number would indicate, and has the interrupted thread. The rifle was originally delivered to J. DeP. Lynch, of Savage, and each of the repair orders show delivery to Fred J Rath, a local Utica business man and politician.

Were a different series of job numbers allocated by department, or recycled?
