Anyone tried a 223 Ruger American with the 60 gr Nosler Partition? I have a stainless factory 1:8 barrel and my first attempt didn't fare too well. I ran 25 and 26 gr of Varget with Win cases and Wolf SRM primers at 2.26" COAL. Best I could manage was about 3" for three shot. The Hornady 60gr SP ran around 3/4"-1" with the same powder charges.

I've read something about the base being thicker on the .224 NPT that can be hard to seat into the rifling and cause accuracy issues. These are factory second bullets from SPS but I can't tell any physical defects by looking at them.

Any suggestions? What powder would be best for these? NOt opposed to trying something else out but I love some Varget for anything I can use it in.
