That's what the Marble's instruction sheet says to do... but they also say to tighten the eye piece with a pair of pliers...

Also the bases on these are long & sometimes get bent if bumped, the sight's base might need a little straightening - don't try to do that by holding on to the post - the top of the post can easily be broken off.
