Here's a link to my 6.5-284 build.

Initially, I used Vv-165, as some of the LR shooters were using it at the time. With Vv-165, I found sharp accuracy nodes. With RL-17, there weren't specific accuracy nodes, but a smooth progression until things got a bit hot and the groups started opening up.

RL-17 will shoot a solid 3K fps with top accuracy, even a bit faster, compared to the 2,950 fps ceiling with Vv-165. At 3,100 fps I was getting close to the RL-17 ceiling, dropped back a tad for peak accuracy.

Initially, as the link reveals, I was using 140 gr. SST's. I swapped to 140 gr. VLD's for better terminal performance on WT's. Both bullets were equally accurate, the SST's sorta erratic, VLD's more predictable. At 140 gr. VLD at 3K in the boiler room will drop a WT pretty quick, no need to crunch bones, bust up shoulders.
