This post isn't really about elk, but I'm thinking the elk hunters might have the best info...
I've drawn an early season rifle bear tag in unit 61, and I thought I'd see if you guys have any pointers. I spend a lot of time in unit 62, but must confess that I am not very knowledgeable about where to start looking in 61. I did spend some time scouting the south end of the unit this weekend, and located a couple decent choke cherry thickets, but it's hard to say if they'll be any good this fall.
Also, if anyone has an archery or muzzy elk tag this year, and would be interested in sharing info (elk info for bear info during the hunt) I'd be more than willing to do so.
