A college degree today is the equivalent, or less, than a sixth grade education 60 years ago.
I was raised to value education and my folks were very well-read, educated and cultured folks.
I do have to say though that after spending my 50 or so years on earth the dumbest, close minded , racist, sociopath folks I have come across have been those with post grad or post doc degrees.

And, most importantly, I value wisdom over knowledge.
You can't tell me there's no wisdom in saving a couple hundred grand by self-educating ?
