Headed out to get new skins for my truck this morning and ran across a guy having a sale. Fella had some "Man Stuff" laid out on some tables so I whipped around to check it out. The sexy walnut and deep blue caught my eye as I headed up the driveway, My feet seemed to move a little faster. I greeted the owner as he sipped his early morning coffee...

I eased right on past the hand tools and fishing poles. Made my way around the faded camo clothing all neatly folded up.
I gazed over the carpentry tools and decided I better move a little closer. I stared at the rifle laying there. It was screaming for me to snatch it up but I was the only one around so I patiently stood there with my hands in my pockets.

.....About right now my brain is running thru the typical check list and I'm telling myself..."Look down the bore real good", "make sure the numbers on the bolt match the receiver numbers", "see if the floor plate and internals have any issues", "take a peek at the bolt face and muzzle crown", " check the safety and trigger", "look for any cracks in the wood", etc,etc...

That's when the fella said the magic words, "You interested in a deer rifle". I reach up, scratch my beard for a second and say "I could probably make room for one".

He takes another sip of coffee and I'm looking all around but there's not a price on the gun anywhere. It's one of those times when your thinking, "Who's gonna throw out the first number"

So.... I ask if I can pick it up. He says go right ahead. I roll it over a couple times and notice the nice shiny metal work is perfect, not a hiccup anywhere. The stock has a few handling marks but it's got some really nice figure. The 3x9 Leupold is crisp and clean. The bolt runs and cycles like a greasy sausage link.

Well.... I'm just about to ask how much he's looking to get out of it and he says "I'd let it go for $$$"

You've all been there when this happens and you want to scream "Hell Yeah" and do a fist pump. grin
I wanted to jump over the table, give him a big hug and a kiss!!!

I fingered thru my wallet and he and I settled up...
