I was at an auction a couple weeks ago looking at a Savage 99. The rifle before the one I wanted to bid on was a nice Savage Model 1919 NRA Match. So I bought both of them. From what I've read about the 1919 is the designation NRA Match, doesn't mean it's a Match Rifle, just that it was legal in all NRA Matches. I shot it for the first time last weekend, and it sure reminded me of shooting High Power when I was a kid in military academy, except no sore shoulder. I was wondering if anyone knows if this rifle is legal for CMP Rimfire Sporter Class? It's right at the max weight of 7.5 pounds with one clip and sights. It has an aperture sight so it would have to shoot in the class with scoped rifles. I just turned 60, and retired last November, so I thought it might be fun to get back into competitive shooting, I have plenty of time. I just thought it would be a little disapointing if this 97 year old rifle was considered a 'Sophysticated Target Rifle" and was banned. Here's a pic of the rifle and the second 5 round 25 yard group I fired, Joe.

I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.
