A couple weeks ago I mentioned that I was involved in a minor auto accident. No injuries!

My car was a 2001 legacy wagon w/ 220k on the meter and was pretty beat from six years of abuse hauling feed and tractor fuel in back, combined with two miles of dirt or mud every day depending on weather.

Within two weeks Farm Bureau Insurance cut me a check for a more than fair value for my car.

After two weeks of internet search I found a '92 Toyota pickup with 70K on the odometer. 22RE I4 w/ 5 speed manual. Just basic, dependable transportation. No air, no PW, no power steering.

Momma and I drove 500 miles to Spokane Wa on Saturday. I added $400 to the settlement from the Subaru and drove home a commuter rig with 1/3 the miles of the one it replaced.

And I got to have lunch with a couple of cousins I had not seen in nearly thirty years.

I drive fifty miles/day for work, and have six years to go to retirement. I bet this little truck will see me through.

I think we came out all right on the deal.
