every time i hear of the charter bulldog i think of a friend of mine. Ran into him at a local gunstore as he was buying a short barreled one in 44special this was years ago. he was a county mounty on the same department i worked. went to do a traffic stop on a guy in a rural area, the guy piled out and unloaded a gun into his windshield, missing him completely, but blowing the windshield out. that was at a time when we were all using smith model 19's. He resolved the situation without getting hurt, but decided he needed more firepower than those six shots. I never forgot that situation. Not uncommon for people to pack more than one revolver, prior to the mass adoption of semiauto's and hi cap mags.
