Fjallraven Keb Trouser, and the USGI ECWCS Gen III Level 5 soft shell pants.

The Keb is the softshell on the back, and like a tin cloth (nyco) in the front. Watch for sales. This is a great hot weather brush pant, and has two zip vents on each leg. With a pair of long johns under, I'll snowshoe in in them too. Watch for sales, and save your pennies. My opinion is that they'll last forever. Buy the wax to waterproof them. They're my new favorite.

Here's a pair of the USGI pants. Much cheaper than the fjallravens, ACUs are out there for $25... Not as fancy, but work well, for cheap...
