Actually, I just bought it- a S&W model 15-1, K-38 Combat Masterpiece. Serial number gives it a Born on Date of 1960. Looks essentially new, just the slightest turn line. The story is that it was purchased by the previous owners brother, passed to him, and was stored for the last 20 years unfired. LGS had it in the case, they cater to the tactical crowd. It was priced more than fairly so I just paid his asking price. Besides, it doesn't really matter if I "bought a little early"- it isn't going anywhere. I didn't really need it since I have both a 13-3 and a 19-3, but you asked about WANT...

Most of all he loved the fall
The leaves yellow on the cottonwoods
Leaves floating on the trout steams and above the hills
The high blue windless skies
Now he will be part of them, forever
