I have a friend who is really good with stocks and he removed it all leaving the gun with much less bulk to boot. I am not sure if any 99's in 284 ever came with this setup, but it should have. I think this is my new favorite 99.

No 99's in 284 had a stock like that, nothing after 1960 had an EG like stock. I've thought about finding a spare stock to put my 99DL into tho, I agree that it's much nicer.
