Don't dry fire it.
I dry fired one at a show I was attending with Benjamin people, and was quickly informed by one of them that was a no-no.
I asked how many times you had to do that to cause damage and he replied... Once.
Had a Benjamin Trail NP in .22cal. It was a nice rifle. Someone needed it for pests and never returned it...
