A Seward man has been taken to Providence Seward Medical Center for treatment after being mauled by a brown bear this morning.



Seward Police Chief Tom Clemons says the 46-year-old was walking dogs near the Seward airport this morning when the incident occurred a little before 6:45am. He was able to call for help from a cellphone.



Police says the bear may have had cubs. Residents are being warned to stay out of the area.
