Sooner rather than later might be good advice, too - if H wins prepare for price hikes worse than when O got elected. While there were shortages on some ammo and components after O got elected, mostly it was just seriously jacked up prices. (That said, it did take about 3 months to get ammo and components for a used Walther PPK/s .380 I picked up.) There are quite a few good options when it comes to which AR make/model to buy - no need to spend a fortune. Mine are a Rock River and a S&W M&P and no complaints. For a first AR I'd go with the 5.56 or .223/5.56 (Wylde chamber) over any other chambering. And I'd stock up on ammo for it. Coyote Hunter - NRA Patriot Life, NRA Whittington Center Life, GOA, DAD - and I VOTE! No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's. A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.
