'I'm on the toilet': McDonald's drive-thru hacked

NEW BERN, NC (WCTI/CNN) - People are used to getting a "How may I help you" greeting at a drive-thru. That's not what customers heard during the weekend at one McDonald's location.

"You know, I'm actually on the toilet right now, and I'm just going to serve your food - not even going to wash my hands," the voice said.

Someone hacked the drive-thru frequency, spraying profanities as people tried to place their orders. One of the customers posted the encounter to Facebook.

"Hey, you know what, just pull forward," the voice said. "I'm just going to give you whatever the (explicit) I feel like giving you."

At first, other customers who saw the video on Facebook thought it was a joke. Bill Purcell, the owner of the McDonald's, released a statement on the matter.

"We are investigating this matter with the help of the New Bern Police Department," Purcell said. "In addition, we are taking steps to prevent this isolated incident from happening again. As local owners, our biggest priority is our customers and community, and we want to ensure that every experience is a positive one."

Customers want those responsible to be held accountable for their actions

"I definitely think charges should be pressed," one person said. "That's pretty explicit to have at a local place."
