Out of my 22" barrel with 140 eld-m and h4350, the average velocity is 2735 fps using a labradar at 15 deg Celsius. I have a standard chamber and load to mag length (2.8"). I tweaked some variables in Quickload to match the actual results I'm getting in the field and it predicts a pressure of approx 61,000 psi. The brass has been used 10 times now, not all with same load, and no signs of a problem.
I shot these bullets all summer because of good availability and decided to hunt with them as well after reading in one of Nathan Fosters books that the 140 Amax is a really good performer on game between 2750 and 1800 fps. I shot 1 mountain goat(100 yds) and 2 good sized november 4 pt muleys(60 yds & 20 yds) with them all by neck shots. I'm not sure if the eld-m is constructed the same as the Amax but it got the job done on these 3 neck shots. I will probably switch the 143 eld-x now that it is becoming more available just to be safe.
