A bucket list item is to hunt Elk during the rut with my bow. I've been reading a lot and was looking at AZ or NM and have spoken with a guide a few times but want to do all of my research before I take the plunge. I would like to keep the hunt (not including airfare, taxidermy, etc.) to 5-8k. I realize some states have a draw while others are OTC or landowner tags. Any recommendations out there?
