It takes a special type of person, very dedicated to an ideal, to make it in media. I'm not defending them, far from it, but it helps to understand them. Like many people (some more appreciated than others), their only goal is to be successful at what they do.
The same could be said about the gents whose job it was to go around and light the gas street lamps at night...
