I just picked up a sweet little 30-06 with a scope AND see-through scope mounts.
The rifle is already drilled & tapped for both front & rear sights, which I'm going to add on as soon as the parts come in.

At the rear I'm going with a complete Truglo set-up & a hooded ramp up front.

My question is this: What's the correct, or at least a serviceable, front bead height?
So far I've run across a .250, .260, .290, .310, .360, .375 & all the way up to a .450!!!

It's all very confusing, as none of my other Model 70s have iron sights on them for me to compare with.

Any suggestions?
