So I just acquired a 99 from a gunshop and did some searching on my own to pin down about how old it is from what I could find out its around 1951 has the lbc 26c and serial number of 589,xxx. It's chambered in 300 sav and has a marbels peep on the tang unfortunately the rear sight is gone and the pervious owner now deceased I'm thinking was original purchaser unfortunately drilled and taped the rifle for scope mounts I wish it wasn't the bbl is has a clean bore there is some minor surface rust spots here and there and the bluing has some spots where it's worn stock is good shape no cracks little dings here and there but overall for 550 dollars I think it will make a decent hunter as was what the pervious owner did with it. Thanks in advanced for any info or input guys
