When I was a kid in northern New York,we use to tap the trees around the house. Buckets and taps. Most farms had a sugar bush ,where they would make syrup. A friends dad fabricated a big tub,at the paper mill so we could boil sap all night. Good times back then. We also took a trip to a sugar bush ,where on one side of the road they collected and boiled sap the old way ,with horses and buckets and on the other side of the road it was collected with tubes and collection tubs. You guys are missing out out ,on hot fresh syrup ,poured over snow and eaten!
