Suggest you also think about one that is waterproof or at least "weatherproof".....I got real sick real quick of buying a new digital camera every time it rained. It's no 24x zoom, but the Olympus TG-4 is working for me. That much zoom, as stated above, compromises the lens ability to take good pictures...unless you plan on spending a lot more.
