I think I'm going to take the plunge and get a Kimber Classic Select Grade, probably in 257 Roberts. I would be interested to hear from anybody who owns one, or a short action Select Grade in general.

I've certainly read some bad reports, but also many good ones. I can generally get my guns to shoot so I think it's worth the risk. Aesthetically, they are simply beautiful rifles. I would probably add a small variable power scope in lightweight mounts and call it good.

One question...I believe I've seen these rifles with full wrap around checkering on the forearm, but mostly with just a panel of checkering on each side. Did I dream the wrap around checkering or did they make some that way?
