While there are some beautifully realistic decoys out there, I often have to walk a mile or more to where I hunt to get to the country I want to hunt carrying all my stuff with me -- in rough country. And I've come to the conclusion that while turkeys are very skittish and wary, they are not very discriminating.

So, I've gone to Cherokee Sports Featherlite Ultimate decoys which are inflatable and a third smaller than life-size and they don't look bad at all. This way I can stuff three or even four (a flock) in my vest without the bulk and increased weight. Additionally, I believe you can get a jake and two decoys - the flock - for about $50 at various places online, lot cheaper than many of the alternatives.

I also carry a Montana decoy strutting tom that folds up the the size of a dinner plate if I want to put the move on a Tom that doesn't want to come in. Just sneak, crawl behind it.
