Heimo's cousin wrote The Last Frontiersman and he has a new book called Braving It. James Campbell is the writer. This book is about bringing his daughter to Heimo's place during the summer. Edna was not well at that time, but said the young lady wouldn't make it. After a lot of trials and tribulations, she did a good job. They helped Heimo build a cabin. She wanted to come back in the winter. They came for Dec and part of Jan I believe. They had to stay in a tent as Heimo said he didn't have room for them in the cabin. The young Lady adapted well. They came back in the summer and canoed a river north to the Bering Sea. A very trying and dangerous trip. I really enjoyed it. The half native guy on the Last Alaskans flew them in and picked them up with his Helio Courier.
A good read.
