In Africa I had a student with 40 brothers and sisters, but he was a Nigerian and an elder in the local Methodist Church, the Shonibare clan, nine wives and 41 kids, and they were all loud. Way back in the bush I came across a village elder with three wives and 23 kids and every one was a girl.

Even Santa Anna was reputed to have fathered ‘only’ 42 kids during his lifetime (he was catholic, five with his wife the other 37 by other women, including one 17 year-old here in San Antonio.

OTOH I had a student who’s mom had five kids with her husband and who then ran away with a boyfriend by whom she had another five. I always figured that lady shoulda been selling cars.
