How does bearing Arms protect citizens.?
I dont know the answers to all your questions, but by bearing arms if meant in the constitutional manner, they keep a lot of dimocraps from entering occupied homes.
Of course, they thus keep many dimocraps from their constitutional right to pursue happiness.
