A bud and my uncle use the 117 SST on deers. Both really like them.

Uncle hunts hardwood timber and my pard hunts field edges. Shots range from up close to 350sh.

No complaints from either that I am aware of.

If it were me I would give the 100 grain TTSX a shot. Drive em hard and fast, they will do anything a lead core bullet will do and end up w more retained weight if you do want to shoot larger critters.
