3:30PM and 96 degrees. I chose today to start taking the tin off my roof to do some upkeep. I first put it on, in much more agreeable weather, 26 years ago. After six hours, I'm about half bagged. I've got one side off, now I'll roll out the membrane for underneath and put the metal back on. I'll do the other half tomorrow. I think I'll start earlier in an attempt to beat the heat. I'm thinking this might take me three days. When I did it the first time, I did the whole thing in one day but I was only 46 then and in better shape.
Expected to get hotter over the next few days. This will be our third significant heat wave this summer. Worse than the heat, in this instance, is the wind, Whenever I'm handling metal roofing, I'm always on the verge of cutting my own throat anyway and the wind makes it worse. On the bright side, the wind has cleared the smoke. GD
