At no time does the Bible condone slavery. It accepts it as a fact of life and it gives rules for slaves and owners to live by but it doesn't say it's good or proper.
Paul gave rules for women that, for his time, were very liberal. He allowed women to be in church, for example. The Jews didn't do that. Their temple had a court of women and they weren't allowed to go in any farther than that.

No, homosexuality won't be the make or break sin but it's an example of how churches are allowing sin to creep in. It's a symptom of what's going on.
