That is a beautiful rifle, in both wood and metal work. I've been contemplating having my .270 1B rebarreled to .300 Savage, already did an Interarms Mark X in the caliber and this year I used it for deer season. Made up the load with Sierra 150gr BTSP Game Kings, shot a doe at over 200 yards and the bullet broke ribs going in and coming out. I used IMR 4166 for it, wound up with a good one at 2640fps although as with the Ruger it could work at higher velocity/pressure. Best of continued luck with your .300!
