I've got a Ryobi One+ 18v that is about eight years old. Has done well. Bought it because I have some other 18v Ryobi stuff. Three years ago needed an electric chain saw, so got an EGO. It did fine for what I needed. Then needed an electric mower for our small backyard patch. Got an EGO and it did fine. No longer need it. Decided a more powerful weedeater was needed so got an EGO combination deal with a blower and weed eater. Blower is awesome. Weed eater not so much. Has the self feeding string deal, which is a pain and takes too long to load. Advancing the line is a pain and doesn't work all the time. Now, the batteries seem to lose their charge when sitting. Wouldn't do EGO anymore.
Might get some of the Ryobi 40v stuff.
