I set up a "long" range shooting area to stretch out a couple rifles. This one is a Tikka in 6.5 man bun with a Athlon Helos BTR on it. I mounted this scope a few weeks ago, zeroed at 100 yds in a couple shots then dialed up 500 yds. After a couple shots and tweaks, confirmed my velocity at about 2750 with a 147 Horny. I dialed to 600 yds, which my chart tells me should be 3.6 mils. As seen in the pic, pretty much center punching the target, confirming my 500 yd data.

Move to 1000 yds. Dialed to what the chart said it should be, 8 mils. Missed my target barrel. I then aimed at the top of the barrel and hit the bottom rim. So I dialed to 8.3, held center and hit these two. Pretty lucky to hit so close together, but I'm liking the consistency of my ammo. As you can see, still hitting low, bottom 1/3 of barrel, so probably need to come up a couple clicks to be centered at 1000. Ran out of time to shoot another volley to confirm.

So question is, since my 500 and 600 yd targets pretty much confirmed my estimated velocity, I assume that since the 1000 yd was about .5 mil low it must be a scope tracking issue? Because if the 5 and 600 yd targets agree, if all is tracking precisely I should be hitting where the chart says at 1000. Not a big deal, easy to fix on the dope card, just curious.
